UFOPress uses automation and AI tools in parts of its production process. This page explains where, and what stays under human control.

Where automation is used

Automated systems help us monitor sources, capture and organize records, extract candidate entities and relationships, and prepare draft material. Automated extraction is treated as a lead, not a fact: data derived this way carries a confidence signal and is subject to review before it informs published conclusions.

What requires human review

Editorial judgments — what to publish, how a claim's evidence status is characterized, and whether a source supports a conclusion — are made under human accountability. Low-confidence or unreviewed automatically-extracted entities and relationships are suppressed rather than displayed.

What we do not do

We do not present AI-generated or stock imagery as documentary evidence. We do not fabricate quotes; quotes are drawn from source material and verified against it. We do not invent sources, testimonials, or staff.

Why we disclose this

Readers deserve to know how the work is produced. Disclosure of automation is part of the same accountability standard we apply to sourcing and corrections.
